About Uriarte Talavera

The oldest company in Puebla and one of the first in the country

Founded in 1824, Uriarte Talavera is the first workshop producing Talavera certified according to the Official Mexican Standard, which grants it the Denomination of Origin. Located in a historic mansion in the historic center of Puebla, the workshop preserves the tin-based pottery-making process introduced in the 16th century in New Spain. All of its pieces are made entirely by hand, following strict quality standards and adhering to colonial techniques.
